A four-stops school in Bogotá, Colombia needed a customized accessibility solution for students, teachers and visitors with varied needs.
The school participated actively through the process and a lift was placed in an existing staircase. Even when the slope of the staircase was long, only minor building work and a short installation time was needed. The lift was installed during the Easter break when both students and school personnel were absence. The requested lift features a lock to restrict its use to only accessibility impaired users.
The project result has been very well received. The library and auditorium has now become a central place in the school, for all students. The installation is also of architectural importance because the school is one of the first in the region to offer a lift in their premises.
